This month, we are thrilled to shine the spotlight on one of Hollaway's exceptional team members, Tara Davis. A native Houstonian with strong ties to the vibrant and historic Third Ward community, Tara has always been captivated by weather patterns and storms.

This fascination led her on an inspiring journey to the University of Oklahoma, where she pursued a degree in Geography with a minor in Meteorology and History. While at the University of Oklahoma she was active in many clubs and activities including joining her beloved sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Upon graduating from the University of Oklahoma, Tara began her professional career in the private sector, joining a prominent weather company. She initially specialized in forensic meteorology, with an emphasis in snow verification. However, her versatility and innate marketing prowess quickly caught the attention of the company's sales team. Eager to explore new horizons, Tara transitioned into a role within the marketing department, where she adeptly managed sales and marketing tasks for both departments.
In 2017, following the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Tara made her way back to Houston and joined the team at Hollaway Environmental + Communication Services Inc. as an associate communications specialist. Here, she brought her wealth of experience to the table and eventually assumed the role of Marketing and Creative Services Team Lead. Drawing on her nine years of private sector expertise, Tara is responsible for managing Hollaway's marketing communications and social media efforts. Her contributions have been invaluable in bolstering the firm's presence in the industry.
Tara's remarkable skill set extends beyond marketing alone. She also serves as a project manager for a significant client's countywide new technology initiative. Her unwavering commitment to excellence and attention to detail have enabled her to foster strong relationships with prestigious organizations such as the Harris County Flood Control District, METRO, the Texas General Land Office (GLO), and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), among others.
At Hollaway, Tara's creative acumen and marketing prowess have propelled the firm to new heights. She has played a pivotal role in devising and implementing comprehensive marketing plans, crafting compelling social media strategies, and developing impactful communications materials. Moreover, Tara's contributions extend to logistical planning for tradeshows and the creation of performance metrics for both public and private sector projects.

In her spare time, she enjoys encouraging kids to be interested in STEM and even has a YouTube channel with her son where they explore science experiments. Beyond her professional achievements, Tara remains deeply rooted in her Houston heritage. Her pride in the city and its surrounding communities is evident in her work and dedication to serving organizations that directly impact her community. Tara's passion for weather, combined with her marketing finesse, has truly made her an invaluable asset to both Hollaway and the clients we serve. Tara is married to her high school sweetheart and has one son with another son on the way this fall.
As we celebrate Tara Davis's impressive journey, we eagerly anticipate the continued growth and success she will undoubtedly bring. Hollaway is fortunate to have such a talented and passionate individual leading its Marketing and Creative Services team.
