Hollaway Day: One Year Later, Still About People

Blog_large

On September 24, 2024, the City of Houston proclaimed Hollaway Day—recognizing Hollaway Environmental + Communications Services as a small, woman-owned firm that has served this region for three decades with excellence, professionalism, and heart.

A year later, we’re still humbled by that recognition. The proclamation honored the work we do—environmental services and strategic communications that uniquely bridge two interconnected fields. It also acknowledged the way we do that work: with a proactive, compassionate approach and a deep understanding of the “big picture,” so that outcomes succeed for everyone involved.

But the real story of Hollaway has never just been permits, plans, meetings, and milestones. It’s people.

It’s the biologists, planners, communicators, designers, and project managers who bring knowledge to the table and care to the communities we serve. It’s our clients and partners who trust us with high-profile projects that deliver regional benefits. And it’s our home—Houston and the state of Texas—whose resilience and spirit shape our purpose.

Today, September 24, 2025, we observe Hollaway Day as a company holiday. We pause our work to rest, recharge, and reflect on the responsibility and privilege of serving our neighbors. We also celebrate the many identities that power our story: a WBE/DBE/SBE/HUB/WOSB firm; a Texas team headquartered in Houston; and a group of people who believe that how we work is as important as what we deliver.

To our team: thank you for showing up with integrity and compassion.
To our clients and partners: thank you for allowing us to do work that matters.
To our community: thank you for trusting us to help plan, protect, and communicate the future we share.

Here’s to another year of meaningful impact—done the Hollaway way!
