Embracing New Challenges: LaDaja’sJourney with Hollaway

This month, we are excited to shine the spotlight on LaDaja Dunn, Hollaway's Office + Human Resources Coordinator, and her experience since joining the team almost four years ago.

As a pandemic hire in August of 2020, LaDaja’s initial goal in becoming a part of the Hollaway team was to absorb as much knowledge as possible about her new role while also establishing solid professional experience as an administrative professional. Navigating through the challenges posed by the pandemic, LaDaja was determined to make a significant impact and contribute to the company's success.

From the outset, she immersed herself in understanding Hollaway’s day-to-day operations. This involved becoming familiar with various processes, systems, and workflows that are integral to the smooth functioning of the organization. Additionally, she focused on serving the support needs of the executive team, ensuring they had the resources and assistance required to perform their roles efficiently.

As she became more ingrained in the company, LaDaja recognized opportunities to expand her responsibilities beyond traditional administrative tasks and began to take on Human Resources (HR) centered tasks, such as onboarding new employees. This allowed her to welcome new team members, guide them through their initial days, and help them integrate seamlessly into Hollaway’s culture.

LaDaja says that one of the most rewarding aspects of her journey has been spearheading Hollaway’s inclusion efforts. “In today’s diverse and dynamic work environment, fostering a culture of inclusion is essential,” she says. “I have been actively involved in initiatives aimed at promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the company. This has included organizing workshops, creating inclusive policies, and ensuring that every employee feels valued and respected.”

LaDaja’s ultimate goal is to positively impact Hollaway’s company culture. By supporting and maintaining a streamlined system for administrative tasks, she hopes to create an environment where efficiency and productivity are maximized. Furthermore, as Hollaway continues to grow and gain new opportunities, LaDaja is committed to providing additional HR support to accommodate the company’s expansion. This includes developing strategies for talent acquisition, employee retention, and career development, ensuring that Hollaway remains a desirable place to work.

“Looking back, my journey with Hollaway has been both challenging and fulfilling,” LaDaja says. “The experiences I have gained, and the skills I have developed, have prepared me to contribute meaningfully to the company’s future. I am excited about the path ahead and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact at Hollaway.”

Office + Human Resources Coordinator

Ms. LaDaja Dunn supports the Hollaway Environmental + Communications Services team as an Office + Human Resources Coordinator. Ms. Dunn brings with her the ease of adaptability, organizational skills, as well as previous administrative and marketing experience to the company. As an Office + Human Resources Coordinator, she helps lead the efficient operation of the office, assists in invoicing, marketing efforts, and provides day to day support to the Executive Team.
