At Hollaway Environmental + Communications Services, Inc., we are privileged to have Ally Altemose as our Director of Environmental Services. With a wealth of experience and expertise, Ally leads a team of highly qualified scientists, guiding them through the intricate realm of environmental practices. Renowned in her industry as a proficient botanist, malacologist, wetland scientist, and NEPA practitioner, Ally's technical prowess and professional acumen are unrivaled. With over 16 years of experience as a dedicated wetland scientist, she provides invaluable guidance to her team and helps clients navigate complex environmental regulations in a streamlined and cost-effective manner. Furthermore, Ally goes the extra mile by advocating for our clients, fostering effective communication, and expediting permits and environmental clearances through her strong rapport with regulatory agencies.

Ally's journey toward becoming a leading figure in environmental consulting began with her graduation from Lamar University in 2006, armed with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science. During her formative years as a student, she discovered her passion for environmental consulting.

Her introduction to the field was marked by an internship where she conducted crucial baseline vegetation assessments within the esteemed Big Thicket National Preserve. Ally's involvement in this project laid the foundation for her commitment to the environmental services industry, propelling her toward her current role as a leader in this industry.

For nearly a decade, Ally's professional journey took her across the United States, working on oil and gas projects in diverse state and federal lands. However, in 2016, an exciting opportunity presented itself when she was approached to join Hollaway Environmental + Communications Services, Inc. This pivotal transition marked a new chapter in Ally's career, where she continues to contribute her expertise and continue as a leader in her field.

Beginning in 2016, Ms. Altemose supported the team as a Senior Environmental Scientist, but quickly advanced into management as Environmental Team Lead, and then, Director of Environmental Services as Director of Environmental Services.

“I am privileged to lead an amazing team of brilliant, fun scientists that bring an exceptional range of expertise in biological, environmental, and wetland sciences,” says Ally Altemose.

Ally currently holds a (PWS) certification from the Society of Wetland Scientists, and an (ENV SP) credential from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) She also holds TPWD Scientific Collection Permits for Freshwater Mussels and listed Plants.

Outside of work, Ally is a mom to two sweet kiddos and is a big Astros fan.

Ally Altemose, PWS, ENV SP

Director of Environmental Services

Ally Altemose is the Environmental Team Lead at HECS. She is a Professional Wetland Scientist with over 16 years of experience delineating and permitting Waters of the United States. She has managed many small- and large-scale development and infrastructure projects. She has a broad range of experience with plants and wildlife surveys. She holds a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Scientific Collection Permit for freshwater mussels statewide and has conducted numerous rare, threatened, and endangered plant surveys throughout Texas.
